
Noah Turner

Noah Turner is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University – Indianapolis. He received his Ph.D. from the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University in 2024 and was previously a post-doctoral Research Associate at the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE) in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His research applies criminological theory to understand various forms of extremist crime and violence, with the goal of producing actionable policy implications that address pressing issues in criminal justice and homeland security. Noah specializes in open-source data collection and analysis and previously managed the development of the Extremist Cyber Crime Database (ECCD) and the Risk and Protective Factors Dataset (RPFD). His recent work has been published in leading academic journals such as Criminology & Public Policy, Annual Review of Criminology, Crime & Delinquency, Terrorism and Political Violence, and Studies in Conflict and Terrorism.
